Change is often said to be the only constant and, today, the rate of change is accelerating. Volatile fuel prices, perpetual technological innovation, increased regulation and the limits of our natural systems demand ever more creative, flexible and sustainable solutions.

The increasingly integrated network of our global economy combined with scope and complexity of today's supply chain presents risks for some and opportunites for others.

In order to gain and maintain a competitive advantage, firms require not only a comprehensive understanding of the issues at hand, but also tools and strategies to implement best practices necessary for success over the long term.

A strong foundation is the precursor to longevity. At STS, we believe our simple, cyclic approach is the cornerstone to continual improvement:

Measure
Strategize
Implement
Manage

Sustainable Transport Systems is committed to exceeding the expectations of our clients and delivering innovative solutions that address today's challenges and ensure tomorrow's success.

Climate change, also known as global warming, refers to the earth's warming climate. These effects are witnessed through increasingly turbulent weather patterns, glacial melting, rising sea levels, and species extinction. Although climate has fluctuated in the past, scientists now believe that the recent warming trend is primarily caused by the combustion of fossil fuels. These effects can only be mitigated by changing the way we use those resources.

According to the EPA, transportation accounts for 27% of all greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) in the US. As regulations and other expectations regarding corporate responsibility for GHG emissions are implemented, transportation-reliant companies will likely face challenges to their traditional business models - unless they start addressing their climate change issues today. Many changes result not only in lower emissions but also in long-run cost savings. These changes may include alternative fuel use and greater efficiency in operations.

system
Pronunciation: 'sis-tuh m
Function: noun
1 : a regularly interacting or interdependent group of items forming a unified whole

The intricate nature of today's business requires an original and creative approach designed to simultaneously mitigate liability and maximize opportunity. This can be accomplished by initially asking the right questions, assessing the challenge, and employing best practice partners to implement efficient, cost effective solutions. Equally as important, results must be effectively communicated internally and externally to all stakeholders.

At Sustainable Transport Systems, our unique, whole systems approach combines the careful analysis and practical knowledge of our team with proven methods that include:

- Initial Benchmarking of Targeted Areas
- Cutting Edge IT Applications to Quantify & Report Progress
